Xiaomi has only dipped its feet once in the folding clamshell market. The first-gen Xiaomi Mix Flip was a big hit, and we can’t wait to see if the oncoming Mix Flip 2 will live up to its name. EEC Authority in Europe has already certified it for launch, which means Mix Flip 2 will launch globally.
It’s been assigned the model code “2505APX7BG.” That letter ‘G’ at the end means a global device. Before EEC cleared it, another version of the same phone also appeared on the IMEI database with the code ‘2505APX7BC.’ We assume it may be the Chinese variant.
EEC didn’t reveal anything else worth mentioning, but at least this certification marks the Mix Flip 2 as an internationally awaited phone. If this newcomer builds on the existing Mix Flip 1 specs, you can expect great things from it, design or otherwise.
The older Mix Flip had a 6.9” 3000 nits 1.5k OLED panel and outside it had a 4” corner-to-corner cover display with cameras protruding out. Inside and out, it had the same refresh rate and equal brightness levels. Of course, the resolutions varied, but the panels looked equally sharp.
Mix Flip has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 maxed with 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, so it is just as great as a non-folding Xiaomi flagship. Its battery is 4780mAh which plugs into a 67W fast charger. This phone has extensive software support with Android 14 built-in by default. Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 will probably upgrade and tweak these specs, taking on the 2025 flagship phones.
