Xiaomi Mix Flip is their first-ever go at a clamshell phone, and they unveiled it about two months ago in China, with everyone wondering if it will go official globally. They hadn’t commented anything about it until now, when Lei Jun posted on X, basically confirming that more regions will see the Mix Flip soon.

He added a poll on X in July asking if Xiaomi Mix Flip should go out in more regions, and yesterday, Lei Jun reposted it with the results and announcement that the Mix Flip’s global deployment will start in September. The poll had about 80% of voters saying yes to international retail.

It’s a flagship vertical Fold with all the primo bells and whistles, like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 top-of-the-line chip they used here. For their first-ever clamshell, Mix Flip isn’t half bad doing 120Hz both inside and on the outside cover screen.

And by the way, Mix Flip also has a full-size 4” cover screen and it’s among the best ones you could ever see on clamshell phones. It’s an AMOLED 120Hz WQHD+ (HDR10+) 3000nits top brightness panel and we see drop/scratch resistance here. It’s almost as good as the inner LTPO AMOLED panel of the Xiaomi new folding phone.

That inside screen is also 3000nits but its size is 6.86” and 2k resolution with 120Hz LTPO refresh rate. They used a 50 MP first camera on the back and the second one is a 50 MP 2X telephoto, and each can do 8k recording at 24FPS. What juices everything is a 4780mAh cell filled up by a 67W charger, and we hear in Europe its price could be around €1,300 (~PKR 403,000).
