Xiaomi Poco C55 Enters the IMDA Certification; Leaks Suggest Helio G85 SoC Under the Hood

Xiaomi recently unveiled POCO C50 in an overseas market and turned many heads. Reports of a similar device are now roaming the internet with hints of an en-route unveil. The upcoming device is a successor dubbed POCO C55, and it's lately receiving quite a hype on the web. Here's everything we know about it.

Xiaomi poco C55's first listing popped up on the internet in September 2022 on the European EEC database. Now it visits Singapore's IMDA authority with the same model number, "22127PC95G." Entries in their certifications mean the launch is imminent in their regions.

According to reports surrounding the device, POCO C55 will be a rebranded version of the Redmi 12C. The IMDA listing did not provide any indication as to what this phone holds under specifications. However, the gossip mill is running hot with claims.

Featuring a 6.71-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution (720 x 1650 pixels), POCO C55 runs MIUI 13 x Android 13 OS by default and procures a rear-facing fingerprint sensor in a circular cutout. Since it's an upcoming budget phone in the Xiaomi price catalog and is allegedly a Redmi 12C spin-off, it will likely have a notched screen.

Under its shell, users will find a 5000mAh cell, rechargeable with a 10W plug, energizing a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. In other specifications, it will likely store data in an eMMC 5.1 128GB storage and background apps in LPDDR4x 6GB RAM. Its cam configuration will presumably have a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 5MP selfie unit. These details are everything the rumor mill coughed up.

The C55 should launch soon, but the Poco X5 series debut might arrive first since the chain has already started teasing the models. However, for those looking for a more budget-friendly option, another Redmi handset also offers a similar camera configuration and features at a lower cost, with the Xiaomi mobile Redmi 10C Price starting at around 32,000 PKR."
