Poco C75 was released in the market ages ago. It’s high time Xiaomi unveiled the series’ second member, the Poco C71, in the global markets. After getting an official teaser a few days ago, the newcomer finally went official in one of the Asian countries, confirming once again the Poco C71’s Gold color option.
Xiaomi C71 is geared solely toward a budget smartphone user, though it does come with a premium finish in the Desert Gold option. The promo images here explain all. As for the specs, this phone has a Unisoc T7250 Max SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 1.8GHz.
Up to 6 GB RAM helps the device with multitasking, and there’s 128 GB of storage onboard this model, if you buy the maxed out variant. If the storage feels limited, you can always chuck in a micro SD card inside this device for extra space (up to 2TB supported).
The processor should handle the Poco C71’s Android 15 Hyper OS 2 system fine, though a few stutters are expected with these low-end Unisoc chips. Also, the phone should age well with Xiaomi promising two years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches, which is exceptional support, especially for new Poco Xiaomi mobile’s semi-entry-level price tag.
The display on the front is a 6.88” notched panel with only 600 nits luminance. It has slightly better readability compared to the standard IPS displays in the segment. The best part about this display is the 120Hz refresh rate, and the worst part is its HD+ 720p resolution. Still, the Wet Touch support and minor waterproofing (IP52) are a nice addition.
The notch helps the device hide an 8 MP selfie camera up front. There’s a 32 MP sensor on the back for primary usage, and we have a second lens under it for decorative purposes. Both cameras can do 1080p 30FPS recording, which is more than you can ask for with the phone’s sub $100 price.
Xiaomi Poco C71 can easily last users a full day on a single charge. There’s a 5200mAh battery inside this newcomer and a 15W charging provides backup when it runs out. The phone’s starting price is $75 (~PKR 21,000) for the 4/64GB option. With ten dollars more, Poco C71’s 6/128GB trim only costs $85 (~PKR 24,000).
