Poco phones have a strong market presence due to their price-to-performance ratio. Every previous Poco device has been a success, and to continue the legacy, the Xiaomi Poco M5 series is all geared for an upcoming debut. It consists of the Poco M5 and M5s. The vanilla M5 has recently clinched the IMEI certification bagging the model number 22071219CG.
Recently, a smartphone with this model code and short name L19C was also spotted in the source code by Xiaomiui. It went by secret codes ‘Rock’ and ‘Stone.’ Afterward, it was revealed that the handset referred to is the Poco M5. Rock and stones codes describe the two variants; with and without NFC support.
The Poco M5 has also been certified by other major sites, including the FCC, IMDA, and BIS. All the listings confirm it to be a 4G device featuring 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual-band WiFi. It is tipped to arrive with Android 12-based MIUI 13.
As for the M5s, it has also received the IMDA certification. It will expectedly be a revived variant of the Redmi Note 10s, giving away the specifications. The latest Xiaomi M5s mobile will boast a 6.43-inches 60Hz AMOLED panel with a 1080p resolution. Fueling these pixels will be a MediaTek Helio G95 SoC with multiple RAM and storage combinations.
Like its predecessors, the Poco M5s will show off bold and flashy rear casing shades where the quad camera layout will be placed. The primary lens will be a 64MP sensor aided by an 8MP ultrawide and dual 2MP sensors. A 5,000 mAh battery will envigorate the whole setup supporting 33W Flash charging.
The Xiaomi Poco M5 and M5s are expected to be priced at around $160/PKR 36,000. We haven’t received word on its launch timeline just yet but we'll update you as soon as we hear anything.
