Xiaomi POCO X7 Likely to Feature 50MP IMX882 Main Camera, Per the New Leak

We wait anxiously for Poco to refresh their X line one more time, and if you’ve been keen, you must know that it’s Poco X7’s turn for the showdown, but there’s little on the interwebs about its existence yet. There was one leak from yesterday that might help uncover some of its secrets.

They say Xiaomi will only dress up its future Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G (global) as Poco X7 with the same cam layout/design and only change the accents and branding to look like a Poco phone. This doesn’t surprise us, not even the slightest, since they pull off these kinds of stunts almost always now.

By that logic, all the internal stats should be the same for both on paper, but the leak says there will be one exception on the camera side. Poco X7 will not use Samsung ISOCELL HP3 like the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G (global) because it is expensive and could hike the price of X7.

They might go with the Sony IMX 882 sensor for the 50 MP main lens and this should do the trick to save its price, and there’s little compromise on the photo quality, so that’s a plus. Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is only in the Chinese Note 14 Pro Plus and not its global equivalent Note 14 Pro, so by extension, the new Xiaomi flagship Poco won’t get this chip either.

Note 14 Pro 5G global will be a Dimensity 7300 Ultra phone and so will be the Poco X7 because they have the same internal code name ‘malachite.’ It may not look it, but coming from the old X6, the D7300 Ultra onboard the Poco X7 is miles better, at least on the performance side.
