We have heard plenty of news about Poco X7 and X7 Pro, but this is the first time we’ve stumbled on a device named ‘Poco X7 Neo.’ Early details about this device have appeared on Geekbench revealing SoC, RAM, and software version. After the X6 Neo, our expectations for the newcomer are high.
MySmartPrice found this handset listed on Geekbench’s performance index which is usually the first clue for the phone’s internals. It isn’t breaking any records but the chipset here is decent, from a mid-range category, and an 8-core 2.5GHz clock speed SoC.
Its SoC architecture with 6E and 2P cores is the same as MTK’s Dimensity 7025 Ultra, and this chip has a solid reputation as a mid-tier performer. Geekbench tested the phone’s 6 GB RAM variant, but hopefully, we’ll see more storage and RAM options with this phone.
943 points single-core and multicore 2247 points on the Geekbench are about what you would expect from a mid-range chip in 2024. 7025 Ultra is at least a class above X6 Neo’s Dimensity 6080 (6nm), so the performance jump will be noticeable.
Among other details, we found that X7 Neo won’t use the latest Android 15 Hyper OS 2 by default. It may be possible after an update, but the operating system section on the Geekbench scorecard shows Android 14 for X7 Neo, which is quickly running out of date.
