Xiaomi Redmi 10C Rolls Out to New Global Markets; Entry-level Features and Pricing

After the midrange Redmi Note 10 Pro release in Pakistan. Redmi 10C is the latest entry-level from the Chinese phone maker. Xiaomi dropped it in Africa first and is now rolling it out to new markets. We have the specs and features to report, and the phone isn’t the most competitive you will find on the market (especially by Xiaomi standards.)

First off, Xiaomi switched from MediaTek to Qualcomm silicon for the Redmi 10C. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 680 processor, built on a 6nm process. The chip is hooked up to 64GB/128GB UFS 2.2 storage that’s expandable to a terabyte. Plus, you get 4GB of multitasking memory.

Everything runs on a powerful 5000 mAh battery. Xiaomi promises two-day battery life out of a single charge — good for 19 hours of video playback, 11 hours of gaming, and 190 hours of music. The Redmi 10C supports up to 18W rapid charging. But the power brick inside the retail box only uses standard 10W support.

The screen of the Xiaomi Redmi new model is a 6.71” IPS LCD. It fills a tall aspect ratio and peaks at an underwhelming 720P resolution (other recent Xiaomi phones feature 1080P displays.) The same goes for the mono-firing speaker on the Redmi 10C since Xiaomi’s catalog often offers dual stereo speakers in this price bracket.

We find a dual camera cluster on the back, housed inside a striking bump. In addition to the 50MP primary and 2MP depth camera, the housing also contains an instant fingerprint scanner and Redmi’s branding stamp. You can pick from Mint Green, Ocean Blue, and Graphite Gray colors. The Redmi 10C starts from ~ Rs. 33,000.
