Xiaomi Redmi 14C 5G will break cover on January 6th. That’s been announced already, but the company has kept most of the details to itself, potentially teasing them in stages over the next few days. The first teasers have gone offical, and we learn about the phone’s display and color options.

Redmi posted the details on X and confirmed the global launch date again for Monday, next week. The makers of this new Redmi 14C handset call it a Premium Starlight Design, now revealed to have Starlight Blue, Stardust Purple, and Stargaze Black finishes.

An official microsite on Redmi’s homepage gave away the rest of its details, as far as the display specs are concerned. Redmi 14C 5G is built around a 6.88” screen with a V-notch and some thin bezels. This screen may not have the best resolution at only HD+ 720p, but it does make up for it with a 120Hz quick refresh rate.

This Xiaomi's new 5G handset follows the design language we saw on the Redmi 14C 4G variant. It even has the same 6.88” screen and 120Hz refresh rate, so in theory, Redmi 14C 5G might share other specifications. The older device had a 13MP selfie camera and a 50MP main shooter.

14C 4G debuted with a Helio G81 chip limited to LTE networks, but we expect 14C 5G to have a different chip. A side fingerprint ID and 18W fast charging were some of its better qualities. This phone used a 5160mAh battery among other entry-level features. It won’t be long till the next 5G Redmi 14C drops, and we’ll learn how close both variants are in terms of hardware.
