Xiaomi Redmi 14C Visits IMEI and FCC Databases with Official Details

Xiaomi Redmi 14C is just a few steps short of launch. The date isn’t confirmed yet, but the FCC and IMEI listed it in their databases. It was even seen in the HyperOS source code, so we already know what Android version they are running with it. Here’s all the dirt we found on the Redmi 14C.

IMEI database assigned it the code ‘2409BRN2CL.’ And the internal model numbers for the Redmi 14C are ‘C3N’ and ‘C3NL.’ That helped XiaomiTime track this phone within the HyperOS source code. It spilled info about the SoC, and there may be a MediaTek G81 engine inbound.

We don’t know what ‘G81’ is code for. However, if you follow Redmi’s history, their older Redmi 13C had a Helio G85 under its hood. So, Redmi 14C would consecutively seat a Helio G88 or G91 Ultra onboard. There’s still some speculation around this topic.

2409BRN2CL may be the variant due for the USA. But there were others. 2409BRN2CG, 2409BRN2CI, 2409BRN2CY, 2409BRN2CA, 2409BRN2CL, and 2409BRN2CC are region-wise model numbers hinting at Global, Japanese, and Chinese variants of the Xiaomi 4G upcoming mobile.

FCC tested the 14C moments after. We found the same ‘2409BRN2CL’ model number on the authority’s site. There’s little to unravel from their report. Still, we can confirm its support for 5G (as the FCC purported). Yes, that conflicts with our expectations of a Helio G88, but there’s always a possibility of separate 4G and 5G variants.
