This season, Xiaomi has been churning out Snapdragon-662-powered entry-level phones like clockwork. The Redmi 9 Power recently joined the Redmi 9 family, which already features three models — Redmi 9, 9A, and 9i. And another variant, named Redmi 9T, is now on its way.
Thailand’s NBTC authority certified the Xiaomi Redmi 9T. The document can be found on NBTC’s database under the model number ‘M2010J19ST’. Since it’s a telecommunications certificate, it doesn’t detail any relevant system information.
But, the Redmi 9T also secured an FCC certification that’s more revealing. Based on that listing, the new 9T has a quad-camera — featuring wide, wide-angle, and two low-resolution cameras. The primary camera has a 48MP sensor. Ultra-wide shots are taken with an 8MP sensor. And the other two cameras are for macro and portrait modes. An 8MP sensor is embedded in the front camera.
Its design aside, the Redmi 9T shouldn’t differ from the POCO M3. The Xiaomi latest model reportedly has Snapdragon 662 at its heart, powered by MIUI 12 and a massive 6000 mAh battery that charges over 18W. Xiaomi ships it with 6GB of memory and 128GB of expandable storage.
The 6.53-inch Xiaomi Redmi 9T screen features a 1080P IPS LCD, with a notch on top. A fast and secure side-facing fingerprint handles biometrics. Plus, you can expect support for stereo speakers.
No word on its launch timeline yet, but the Redmi 9T could be Xiaomi’s first entry-level device for 2021. WhatMobile puts its starting price around Rs. 37,999.
