Xiaomi Redmi A1 Alleged New Variant Exposed Via FCC Listing; Upgrades SoC to Helio P35

The ultra-budget catalog by Xiaomi produced two new devices, Xiaomi Redmi A1 and A1+, in October 2022. With a semi-premium modern finish, the pair houses an ancient MediaTek Helio A22 chip. While the models have a lot going for them in specifications, this chipset is their only downside. The chain plans to fix it.

As per the Chinese publication Xiaomiui, the manufacturer is R&D-ing an upgraded Redmi A1 mobile. Their new post refers to an FCC listing that popped up on the web with the model number 23036RN54G. The initials "2302" indicate an imminent arrival in February or March.

The new Xiaomi Redmi A1 is getting a slightly upgraded CPU to gain a competitive edge. According to a report, Xiaomi's next 23036RN54G will use a new processor, the MT6765X. The code belongs to MTK's budget Helio P35 12nm SoC.

FCC files highlight the main changes with the future Xiaomi 23036RN54G, AKA Redmi A1, and there aren't many. Apart from SoC and operating system, the latest Xiaomi A mobile will not differ from the original in any other way. At least not in terms of the hardware.

While the original A1 scored Android 12 Go, the upcoming iteration abounds with Android 13's lightweight "Go" edition. Xiaomiui believes 23036RN54G to be a remake of the October released A1, but the product name has yet to confirm. We suggest taking the phone's name with a hint of skepticism.

Typical to routine, the hidden details about Redmi's new model should leak in the upcoming days. If Xiaomiui's report is to be believed, the impending phone will feature a 6.62-inch screen, 5000mAh battery, dual camera setup on the back, and a 5MP selfie unit upfront.  And with its expected specs, one can anticipate the cost of the upcoming A1 variant to be in line with the Xiaomi Redmi's Competitive 10C price.
