Xiaomi Redmi A4 5G has finally gone official in an overseas market, just as they promised in the last couple of teasers. It’s not just an announcement like before, but a proper debut with a pre-order window and everything, and these are the details they confirmed with this launch.

They unveiled the Redmi A4 5G in India first, but soon enough, we’ll see this same handset in more countries. Snapdragon 4S Gen 2 chip is the proudest feature of this phone and it may be the only consumer device in existence right now with this new entry-tier 5G chip.

The second big highlight of Redmi A4 is the 6.88” IPS 600 nits panel, which scores a 720p HD+ resolution and more importantly, a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen bezels are also uniform, and there’s a minimal U-notch to mount a small 8 MP selfie shooter.

It’s supposed to be the cheapest 5G-ready phone on the market, so they had to cut some corners, and the storage section seems to take the hit. The Xiaomi's 5G budget mobile comes in with a base 4/64 GB memory trim, but alternatively, they also made a 4/128GB option available.

5160mAh battery plus 18W fast charging are also present on Redmi A4 5G, and the official site shows a starter price tag of ~USD 100 (~PKR 28,000) for its 4/64 GB configuration, which marks it as the cheapest 5G-ready phone. Redmi A4 5G also has a 50 MP rear camera, a side fingerprint reader, and quite an attractive design.
