Xiaomi, in recent months, has emphasized the durability of its smartphones — not just on the flagship level, but down to the budget segment. It started with the Redmi Note 10 series and its IP-rated builds in spring this year. With the new round of 5G Note 10 phones, Xiaomi pushed it a step further by integrating the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G with Gorilla Glass Victus, the toughest there is. And what better way to showcase this feature than a battery of stress tests.
The product executive, Wang Thomas, published these tests in a video on Weibo. The Pro variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G comes out unscathed after the series of brutal scratch, drop, pressure, and shock tests.
We open with the Note 10 Pro screen being shot with walnut shells that shatter on impact. The walnuts are then replaced with ice cubes for good measure, which become a foggy mist upon hitting the phone.
A robot arm mechanically scratches the new Xiaomi mobile’s surface with a set of metal claws and even a scalpel; it goes for a trip in a tumbler machine with metal fillings, rocks, and coins. Note 10 Pro 5G is also dropped from a height, and it ricochets against the hard surface.
The Victus glass isn’t just tough, it also has a certain ‘give’ to it. When subjected to a pressure test, regular glass snaps in half while Gorilla Glass Victus bends without breaking.
The Note 10 Pro 5G screen is turned on when the tests conclude to reveal not a single scratch. The phone is also IP53-rated against dust and water to complement this invincible glass.
