Xiaomi's Redmi Note 12 lineup continues to broaden its horizons, again making headlines with its latest launch in Europe. Following successful debuts in China and India, the series has expanded its reach to the European market by re-introducing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 4G, and Note 12 5G.
This piece focuses solely on the Redmi Note 12 Pro lineup, while we'll delve into the Vanilla Note 12 variants in a separate post. Please keep reading for an in-depth overview of the Pro and Pro Plus as we explore their hardware specifications and unique selling points.
Starting with their displays, both Note 12 Pro and Pro Plus boast 6.67-inch OLED panels, backed by 900 nits peak brightness with smooth 120Hz refresh speed. Protecting their screens is a Gorilla Glass 5 shield. An FHD+ resolution (1080p) is standard on both phones.
In the realm of camera performance, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus outshines the standard Pro variant by a country mile, using a 200MP OI" 1/1.4" primary sensor leading the cluster and 8MP + 2MP secondary cameras following it. On the Xiaomi new Pro model, users will find a relatively unimpressive 50MP primary camera, while secondary lenses and 16MP selfie shooters are identical for both.
While both phones share a similar Dimensity 1080 6nm core, their memory hubs are slightly distinct. The Pro Plus has a solo 8+256GB configuration. On the other hand, the Standard Note 12 Pro morphs into multiple segments, expanding the options to 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB.
Note 12 Pro Plus and Note 12 Pro will bear the same endurance level since they both have identical 5000mAh batteries. The higher-end sib has a blazing-fast 120W input in charging speeds, while the standard Pro only boasts a 67W input.
Both new Redmi Note contenders have an IP53 rating, a side-mounted biometric, Wifi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 support, Android 12 out of the box, an Audio port, and UFS 2.2 x LPDDR4X memory modules. They also share a color palette: Polar White, Sky Blue, and Midnight Black.
