We thought the Redmi Note 13 series was done and over with. But here we are, covering the launch of this new Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R. It gets slight tweaks in design and most of the old internals. This phone is practically a Note 12R with a not-so-different disguise. But some of the new upgrades we approve. And oh yes! Redmi Note 13R has debuted in China.
It felt obligatory, the launch. Note 13R still crushed the goal if it was to be an iterative successor. It's a flat, no-curve build, unsurprising. And you get to see that classic three-way camera system backside. Sure, they dispart in size, the Note 12R and Note 13R lenses. But the actual specs, there's nothing different there.
Note 12R had a 50MP + 2MP combo 1080p 30FPS recording. So does the Note 13R. But they didn't want to disheart customers. So, the selfie camera this time has jumped from 5MP to 8MP. We'd also like to mention that the display isn't that much different.
Get a 6.79" FHD 1080p LCD with the Xiaomi latest Note mobile. But instead of 90Hz. It will bump you up to 120Hz. It jumps one other generational hoop. And that is software. Android 14 Hyper OS fills up that particular role. Snapdragon 4+ Gen 2 chip is an acceptable upgrade. But god knows why they removed that SD card slot.
A 5030 mAh battery seems pretty standard. But that 33W charging skill we have to mention it. 6GB + 128GB of that Note 13R combo is CNY1,399 (~PKR 54,000). It's all good in our books. But the last-tier 12GB + 512GB at CNY2,199 (~PKR 84,000) may be a bit too high.
