They kept their word and debuted all three Redmi Note 14 phones in China, and of course, Pro and Pro+ were the headliners doing IP69K durability ratings and all the other upgrades they promised. Even their designs get a full remake, so let’s get you up to speed on everything Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro Plus came out with.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+
Of course, the Note 14 Pro Plus took the lead here, and its 50MP telephoto could be one of the reasons why. Their Redmi Note line has never had a 2.5x 60mm telephoto before, it could be a big deal for portraits, but the other cameras are your typical 50 MP first and 8 MP ultrawide.
Both share the same AMOLEDs doing 120Hz 1.5k resolution and a panel size of about 6.67”. 3,000 nits peak brightness (under specific conditions), and you can also watch OTT content in HDR10+ or Dolby Vision and that same AMOLED is home to a front fingerprint ID and 20MP selfie unit.
Note 14 Pro+ should perform better than the other two and the main reason is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 at 2.5GHz and a max RAM size of 16 GB that people can buy at a higher price. It’s a bit too early for Android 15 right now, so these phones get Android 14 Hyper OS 1 out of the factory, but they at least promised 3-year OS upgrades for it.
Pro Plus is the only one with a 6200mAh cell (90W charging), plenty to last you one or even two days, but its 8.7mm thickness is a compromise you have to deal with. Then there are WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, even Infrared is here. This Note 14 Pro Plus is priced at ~$270 (~PKR 78,000) for the starter 12/256 GB and will go up to ~$327 (~PKR 90,000) for the 16/512 GB.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro
Note 14 Pro has cut down on the features ever so little but it’s still a beast for the price, especially if you consider that display. There’s the same curving 120Hz AMOLED here that peaks at 3000nits and even has HDR10+ and 1.5k resolution, and they layer a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on this 6.67” panel.
And if that’s not enough, they gave this model a Dimensity 7300 Ultra chip, and its performance is about as good as the Pro Plus’. But they did downsize its battery to 5500 mAh and the charging speed here is only 45W. It’s the same Hyper OS x Android 14 that they promise 3-year OS upgrades with.
They didn’t use a telephoto lens in the Pro, but there are still ultrawide 8MP and 50MP main units plus another 2 MP lens you can use for shooting macros. There’s the same 20 MP selfie snapper here, and even screen fingerprint ID and Infrared. Note 14 Pro has the lowest 8/128 GB config for the starter cost of about ~$199 (~PKR 55,000).
