Redmi is mostly consistent in its ways, so we suspect the Redmi Note 14 series will be out in mid-September like it did with the Redmi Note 13 family last time. And we have 3C to back all the rumors. There were model numbers in certifications and each of these Note 14 models gave up clues about when they were due.
There is also another very juicy report that showed up some hours ago and it had Redmi General Manager’s Weibo posts. Its contents included hints about waterproofing tech that the Redmi Note 14 series will use. And people are all riled up that IP68 will be part of their spec sheets.
Thomas said that IP68 is a super integral part of the Redmi Note 14 series, but he didn’t clear some of the confusion everyone had. Is it only the Pro Plus variant getting it, or all of them? Redmi Note 13 Pro+ had that IP68 class chassis, but the others were ordinary with no greater than IP54.
There is always a catch when the subject is cheap/affordable phones from Chinese brands like Xiaomi. They cut down on obscured specs that generally matter to a small subset of people. That’s why you see little innovation at the cheap end, but Xiaomi's flagship new models are at the center of all advanced tech.
Redmi GM also said it may be the best opportunity for people to test the new Redmi Note against the iPhone 16 because they have the same waterproofing on paper. Some leaks will tell you that 1.5k 120Hz displays are inbound and chipsets like SD 7s Gen 3 and Dimensity 7350 will be at their epicenters, but there’s no way to be sure until official confirmation.
